Debugging upload issues can be difficult as there are many variables that can cause problems. We've outlined most of the common problems and fixes below:
Make sure all file names contain only alphanumeric, hyphens and underscore characters and only a single period directly before the three letter extension (.jpg)
Make sure folder names contain only alphanumeric, hyphens and underscore characters.
Make sure folder and file names are not longer than 80 characters.
If this is for normal gallery uploads, download the latest flash plug-in from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
If this is for event proofing, download the latest java plug-in from http://www.java.com
Try moving your image source folder to
your desktop prior to uploading. Some users have had problems when the
source folder is many directories deep or on external media like a CD.
Try uploading from a different browser such as Firefox?
If the above fails, try rebooting your router (unplug it for 10 seconds) then upload again.
If the above fails, try turning off any security software you have running to see if this makes a difference. Turn it back on afterwards.
If the above fails, try turning off any firewall software you have running to see if this makes a difference. Turn it back on afterwards.
If none of the above fix the problem, can you please tell us the following to help debug your uploading problem further:
- What OS and version are you running?
- What web browser and version are you running?
- What type of internet connection are you using, dial-up, cable, DSL, Satellite?
- Can you upload a single file at a time without issue?
- What error messages, if any, are you receiving?
- Have you had success in the past or has this issue always affected you?
- Is this an upload into a normal gallery or for event proofing?
- And please email 2-3 files that your trying to upload and let us know where you're uploading them to (which gallery or event)?
