You need to point your domain name to us by changing your
DNS Name Servers
or by changing your domain's
A records. We prefer if you use the name
server method.
Pointing Your Domain Via Name Servers
1. Log into your domain registrar administration account (the place where you purchased your domain).
2. Change your 1st name server to ns1.righthookmedia.net
3. Change your 2nd name server to ns2.righthookmedia.net
The following IP addresses may be requested from your domain registrar as well:
Primary Nameserver IP: 67.192.169.212 - enter this only if it is requested.
Secondary Nameserver IP: 75.127.67.179 - enter this only if it is requested.
4. Make sure there are no other name servers listed. Delete them if there are.
Your domain will then take about 48-72 hours to point to your new
BigBlackBag website. If it does not appear to be working after 72 hours,
please notify us.
5. Once your domain is pointed then we will handle any email for that
domain name so you should add any email addresses you use for the
pointed domain in the Account/Email Controls before or soon after
pointing the domain. If you'd like to continue to use your existing
email provider, then you will need to supply us with their MX records
and any other DNS records they recommend for your email to function
properly. You should supply us with the MX records and wait for our confirmation
before pointing your domain to avoid a lapse in email service. Please note that you should not add any emails via our system if you
continue to use your own email provider as this will cause confusion
within our system, resulting in lost emails.
Pointing Your Domain Name Via A Records
Some customers prefer to keep control of their own DNS. If this is the
case, then you will need to point your website's A records (*. , www.) to the following IP address: 67.192.147.20 via your existing registrar's web site. The FTP A record should point to: 67.192.169.210 .
If you use this method, then your email will continue to be handled by
your existing provider and there is no need to send us your MX records.
Please note that you should not add any emails via our system if you
continue to use your own email provider as this will cause confusion
within our system, resulting in lost emails.
Please also note that we will not be able to quickly manage any changes
from our end in the case of an emergency should you use this latter
option for pointing your domain name to our servers.
Do NOT point your domain using Domain Forwarding as this will result in problems with email, stats and some web site functionality.
